95th Street Corridor Business Readiness Initiative
What economic-development implementation looks like on the ground, reaching businesses along a commercial corridor, understanding where each one stands, and doing the work required to help them participate in opportunities that apply to them.

The Engagement
Working the Corridor
Premier 72 has worked with the Endeleo Institute to support business-readiness and implementation activities connected to Chicago's 95th Street commercial corridor.
Premier 72's role has included helping create awareness among businesses, generating interest, business outreach, intake, readiness support, documentation support, business planning support, application preparation and support, project coordination, and implementation infrastructure.
A major lesson from the engagement: businesses do not automatically become ready to participate in economic-development opportunities simply because a program or funding opportunity exists.
The Implementation Challenge
Between a Program Opportunity and a Business Ready to Participate
Economic-development programs can provide opportunity, capital, technical resources, and investment. That is real value. But a local business may still need help understanding:
- What the opportunity actually is
- Whether it applies to their business
- What information is required
- Which documents they need
- What is missing from what they have
- How to organize their information
- How to prepare an application
- How to coordinate contractors and project information
- How to respond to deadlines
- What they need to do next
Implementation capacity is often the bridge between an available economic-development program and a business that is actually prepared to participate. That gap is a normal feature of business-facing program delivery, and closing it is the work.
Premier 72's Role
The Eight Stages, Applied
The same implementation model described on our Economic Development page, as it played out on the corridor.
Outreach
Premier 72 conducted direct business outreach to help create awareness and interest along the corridor.
Intake
Premier 72 worked with interested businesses to begin gathering information and understanding their circumstances.
Readiness Assessment
Premier 72 helped determine what businesses had, what they still needed, and what issues could prevent them from moving forward.
Technical Assistance
Premier 72 provided hands-on assistance to help businesses organize information and address readiness gaps.
Financial, Capital & Grant Readiness
Premier 72 helped businesses prepare the information and documentation required to pursue applicable economic-development opportunities.
Project Implementation Coordination
Premier 72 supported contractor walkthroughs, documentation gathering, uploads, compilation, and application preparation where applicable.
Business-Owner Support
Premier 72 worked directly with owners, including extended working sessions where necessary to move applications and business information toward completion.
Measurement & Reporting
Premier 72 developed back-office tracking and visibility so progress, missing information, and next actions could be monitored.
Beyond Conversations
Implementation Infrastructure
This engagement involved more than meeting with business owners. It required the operational structure that lets a business-facing program actually run and be reported on.
- Business-readiness tracking
- Document organization
- Upload and compilation processes
- Application-support workflows
- Business planning support
- Contractor coordination and walkthrough support
- Progress visibility
- Back-office tracking
- Identification of missing information
- Next-action tracking
- Direct business-owner working sessions
Application Support
Supporting Businesses Through Submission
Premier 72 supported businesses pursuing applicable City of Chicago corridor-development opportunities, helping assemble the information, documentation, and project details those applications required.

Successful Application Submissions Supported
Completed and submitted. Submission is not an award, an approval, or funding received.
What "successful submission" means
It means the application was completed and submitted. It does not mean a grant was awarded, funding was approved, a project was funded, or money was received. Premier 72 does not administer these programs and does not decide their outcomes.
What We Are Learning
What 95th Street Is Teaching Us
Outreach matters
Businesses cannot participate in opportunities they do not know exist.
Readiness comes before application
Interest alone does not mean a business has the documents, plans, financial information, or project details required to move forward.
Technical assistance must be hands-on
Some owners need direct working sessions rather than another checklist or referral.
Infrastructure matters
Organizations need visibility into which businesses are ready, what is missing, and what needs to happen next.
Implementation continues after submission
Application submission is a milestone, not the end of business readiness or project implementation.
